WSTRN'S Diverse Cultural Sound For The Worldwide Audience

WSTRN, a trio group of Akelle Charles , Louis Rei & Haile residing from West London, are the fresh limelight to the scene with a versatile sound that entwines multiple cultures.  From their first hit in 2015 with In2, they have given us the London Introspective with an R&B vibe.

In 2016 WSTRN gave us the song "A-List"; A cool summer vibe. Continuing in their growing success, they partnered up with Fekky to bring us "Trap Love" followed by "On The Go." The 80's sound vibe that they had been working with brought us into 2010 with their song "Come Down". A song which utilised the sample from Evelyn “King” Champange’s 1982 hit single “Love Come Down” and samples the song’s chorus albeit from the male’s perspective.

2017 was a big year for WSTRN. With some unexpected changes to the group to particular circumstances, the group continued to overcome these difficulties and progress forward with their music and defining their sound.

And these changes definitely did not slow them down! After a quieter period, WSTRN came with that West Indian inspired sounds that would have you whining up and feeling like your in the tropics, regardless of the rainy English 'Spring'. Firstly, with "Social" and then it's remix with Mostack this was a regional / national hit. And they continued on their winning streak. "Txtin" featuring Jamaican's Alkaline, who added that true organic Caribbean sound for this being a true worldwide hit for every dancehall and dancefloor. Then just when you thought they were done,  they gifted us with "Ben Ova". This body of work is so addivtive that you'll have WSTRN on repeat, playing each song back to back!

2018 for WSTRN has definitely been showing they got this year in the bag. Even as feature's on a track, they add that WSTRN class, starting of with the banger 'Vice Versa" by One Acen. This song remind us of that old school, smooth, easy listening R&B sound that is perfect for every occasion. Whether it be one of the Friday tunes in the office, or in a club where the base takes over your waist and soul, you can't help but love this tune. The second feature was with Mabel, on her track "Fine Line." Striking with another cultural sound, WSTRN featured on Afrobeats song "Love Struck" with vocal duties stemming from inimitable Afrobeat stars, Mr Eazi and Tiwa Savage.

The groups versatility yet recognisable sound is something for which has seen the group become one of the most credible propositions within British music.

Guess it's WSTRN SEASON!, can't wait for what they got installed for the rest of 2018...
